Weekly Pottery Classes
The Tresabenn Studio equipment includes eleven potters wheels, two large hand-building tables, a 60x120cm slab-roller and two large top-loading kilns, allowing students ample space to work on projects large or small. The main studio clay is a sanded terracotta and the primary decorative medium is coloured slips. Finished work is usually biscuit fired by the following week and glazed pots by the week after.
Wednesday morning and evening. These are unstructured classes where students may throw on the wheel, or pursue any alternative making technique they wish. Tutor Richard Phethean is available as and when required.

Monday morning A general class with tutor Debbie Prosser for students, ideally with some existing skills/experience covering all aspectes of studio practice including throwing, hand-building, press-moulding, slip-decorating and glazing
Monday evening a class suitable for beginners and improvers is tutored by local artist potter Simon Bayliss
Mixed ability group from beginner to advanced, so come to learn and practice new skills in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
You need to bring an apron and a towel. The studio has plenty of pottery tools, but if you prefer to use your own, please do so. All weekly classes are now
£25 per session payable by the term. Classess begin on Monday 16th Spetember 2024
