Known primarily for his slipware work, during the first covid lockdown Richard began work on a series of works without coloured slip or glazed surfaces, transitioning in coloured clays and form. The first work pictured here was concieved for a show in a gallery space with a long windowsill, facing east over the sea.

'Untitled # 1' 2020  h11-19cm. Work in eleven pieces, thrown and altered in graduating mixtures of terracotta and black clays.

Richard is an established professional potter whose work has been exhibited throughout the UK and can be found in collections internationally.  He is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association, a national body which promotes excellence in British studio ceramics through it's events and it's retail gallery, Contemporary Ceramics, in Bloomsbury, central London.
